  1. Mono/Poly Switch Switches between monophonic and polyphonic modes.

Overview

The Mode module allows switching the entire patch between monophonic and polyphonic modes.

In Depth

Monophonic mode works like a hardware modular synthesizer. It can be used for monophonic synths, generative patches, sequences, or any other patch that doesn’t require multiple voices to play simultaneously.

In polyphonic mode, many copies of the patch run at the same time. Each time a new MIDI note is triggered on a controller, a new instance of the patch starts playing. There can be up to 8 notes playing simultaneously. This mode enables the creation of polyphonic patches such as pads, strings, keys, organs, and more.

Any existing monophonic patch can be made polyphonic by clicking on the Mono/Poly switch.

Since Multiphonics CV-1 and CV-2 did not have a polyphonic mode, all patches in the legacy CV-1 and CV-2 factory libraries are monophonic. Feel free to switch those patches to polyphonic mode!

For more information about how polyphony works in Multiphonics, including how CPU usage is managed and what the LEDs on modules show when many notes are playing simultaneously, refer to the Polyphony section of the manual.
