Distortion (Output Effect)
Effect Rack

- Power Switch Toggles the distortion on (blue) or off (gray).
- Mix Knob Adjusts the balance between clean and distorted signal.
- Gain Knob Sets the pre-gain, which changes the amount of distortion.
- Tone Knob Changes the tone of the distortion. When centered, tone is neutral.
- Out Knob Adjusts the output gain to compensate for the input gain. Adjust this so the Mix knob maintains a near-constant volume across its range.
Description ⚓︎
The built-in Distortion effect module applies distortion to the whole patch with a smooth and slightly asymmetrical saturation curve. The Gain, Tone, and Mix parameters allow for a wide range of distortion colors, from subtle and warm to ear-splitting and harsh. Click on the Effects module configuration button (gear) to fine-tune the distortion parameters.
If you need distortion at an arbitrary point in your patch, use the Saturator module. However, in polyphonic patches, the Distortion output effect is the only way to add distortion to the combined mix of all voices.
